**Texelse Boys
**Found in 1999, Texelse Boys is a non-commercial platform for boundless creativity. Creative people from all thinkable fields from all around the world work experiment together on this platform to make creative work beyond their expertise. This led to e.g. an own tv-show, radio broadcasts, performances, new music, videos and a festival in a festival in 2005: Texelse Boys Playground at the Lowlands festival.
Interactive/Media/Design at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague
This September 2006 we started with a new study at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague, The Netherlands named 'Interactive Media Design' (IMD). Name does not cover everything, but it's difficult to describe what I/M/D will be about. Acually, you should read Interactive / Media / Design, as seperated words instead of as a sentence. Interactive – all possible ways of interaction; as well on-line as off-line, Media – by use of all thinkable or yet to be developed medium and Design – as a tool to make it understandable/usable/understandable/... It won't be about designing the next great interface or how you can move a cursor by movement of your hands, but about educating designers from now, the present looking forward to the future. They shouldn't be obstructed by any kind of medium, mean or technique.
Students shouldn't only be able to signal the cultural, social, technological en economical trends in society, but also should be able to convert this knowledge in new, promising (social)(responsible) concepts and ideas. Ideas will be the main product, but should have the potential to actually become real products. It should become a centre for development of culture.
To guide the students I'm on the search for inspiring individuals who can give (guest) lectures, masterclasses or can contribute in any other way, e.g. contribute to the weblog. Or places that can be visited. Together, these individuals form the 'Pool of Masterminds'. People who can think and work beyond their own knowledge, explore their boundaries and cross them to create something new, create new insights. Driven by passion.
